Changes imminent at Education?

8.17.03pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 30th Sep 2006

Our reporting of rumours usually turns out to be pretty accurate, so this week we bring you news that the Council's revised plans for an Academy in Darlington - this time just to replace Eastbourne School - will only be approved if radical changes take place within the Education hierarchy.

The appalling GCSE results at Eastbourne, and the unsatisfactory results at other schools, have not gone unnoticed in Government. The Darlington Labour Party is a major embarrassment to the Labour Government. They are insisting on radical changes to the local education hierarchy before approval for the new Academy is given.

Whose head will role? Who will be the fall guy for Williams and Co?
