Mike Barker accuses Labour candidate of thoughtless scare-mongering2.00.00pm GMT Tue 19th Jan 2010 In his blog today, Mike Barker writes on the latest twist in the debate about the provision of acute stroke services in Darlington. The Council's Health and Well-being Scrutiny Committee met this morning and heard from the local Health Trust's Chief Executive that there was no short-term threat to the provision of these services in Darlington. He regretted that Cllr Chapman had made public an incomplete internal document. He stressed that action had already been taken to ensure that the proposed retirement later this year of two stoke consultants had no adverse effect on the current level of acute stroke service provision in Darlington.
